Brad Baldia attended The Hill School, an elite private boarding school in Pottstown, PA. Brad received his BA in English and Biology from Bucknell University and a Masters in Public Health from Temple University. In 1995, Brad served as a White House Intern in the Office of Presidential Personnel.
He currently works as the Director of the Southeast Philadelphia Collaborative. In addition, he works extensively with Asian community organizations on a local and national level, such as the Philadelphia Mayor’s Commission on Asian American Affairs and the National Association of Asian American Professionals (Brad is Founding President of the Philadelphia Chapter and was elected in August, 2006 as Executive Vice President of NAAAP National and National President & Chairman in August, 2008).
He serves on various boards including the Multicultural Affairs Congress (Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau), the Pennsylvania Immigration & Citizenship Coalition, the Chinatown Learning Center, the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival and NAAAP. Brad is also member of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Asian American & Pacific Islander Advisory Committee, the FBI Philadelphia’s Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee and was a 2008 CPL Pennsylvania Political Leaders Fellow. (www.progressleaders.org). Brad currently serves as Faculty for the Center for Progressive Leadership - Pennsylvania.
Mr. Baldia has received numerous awards for his efforts, including the "Unsung Heroes Award" by Keystone Mercy Health Plan and "National Brotherhood/Sisterhood Award" by the National Conference for Community and Justice. In 2002, he was recognized as one of the "Top 30 Most Influential Asians in America Under the Age of 30". In 2007, Brad was one of fifty individuals citywide that was nominated for the “Spirit of Philadelphia” award by Greater Philadelphia Cares. In July, 2008, Mr. Baldia was named one of Philadelphia’s 101 Top Connectors by LEADERSHIP Philadelphia.
Dr. William Lai is a licensed pharmacist by professional and academic training. His professional work experiences include practicing pharmacy at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and serving on the pharmacy faculty at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy (Rutgers University).
Currently, he is employed at Baxter Healthcare Corporation in their Global Clinical and Medical Affairs division as a Senior Manager. He has also been employed by other renowned pharmaceutical companies such as Merck, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. He has also held part-time positions with both CVS and Rite Aid Pharmacies. Will also participates as faculty and speaker for professional development meetings organized by the Drug Information Association (DIA).
Will earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, the first school of pharmacy in the USA, and subsequently completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Rutgers University. He then pursued an Executive Masters in Business Administration degree. As a devoted and committed professional, Will has been awarded lifetime memberships in the highest honor societies in both pharmacy (Rho Chi) and business (Beta Gamma Sigma).
Will is also strongly committed to professional organizations and developing leadership skills. He previously served as a Chapter President within the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), held national-level positions within ASHP, served as o-Chair of the Asian American Healthcare Network (AAHCN), and just recently completed his first term on the Advisory Council of North American for the Drug Information Association (DIA).
With NAAAP Philadelphia, he served as Secretary and Director of Internal Relations, working alongside other NAAAP Philadelphia Leadership Officers to ensure fluid operations and communications within the chapter. Additionally, he has prior experience working on NAAAP National iniatives such as serving on the 2010 NAAAP National Leadership Retreat Selection Committee. Currently, he is geographically located in Southern California and lends his support and experience to NAAAP Orange County.
Dwayne Sye is a co-Founder and Chief Information Officer for Cvent, Inc., the largest provider of on-demand Event Management Software in the country. Throughout his tenure at Cvent, Dwayne has guided the company's innovative yet cost-effective use of technology. He earned his BSE in Systems Science and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dwayne has been active with NAAAP for over 5 years. From 2004 to 2008, he was Vice-President and Treasurer for NAAAP Washington, DC, and led their effort to achieve 501(c)(3) recognition. In 2010 he was elected Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer for NAAAP National.
In his free time, Dwayne is an avid sports enthusiast, and enjoys
basketball, tennis and skiing. He considers himself a "foodie" and a
mediocre cook, but gets better with every foray into the kitchen. He dreams of one day being a contestant on Top Chef.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Mr. Park moved to United States from Argentina at an early age with his family, grew up and currently resides near Philadelphia, PA. While Mr. Park was trained in classical opera, and started out as a Music and Political Science Major, he completed his undergraduate studies at Villanova University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.
Over his 12 years of experience in the banking industry, Mr. Park has been fortunate in gaining a diverse background in management, strategic planning, marketing, sales, technology, compliance and risk management. More recently, Mr. Park joined the fifth largest bank in the United States as a Treasury Management Officer, overseeing the business development of treasury management solutions for sales and relationship managers in the great state of Delaware.
Aside being an active member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals and having served as the Senior Partnerships Manager for its Non Profit Relations Business Unit, Mr. Park has been engaged in and around the Philadelphia region through committed involvements, board and executive positions with business and community organizations such as the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Making a Progressive Philadelphia, and Greater Philadelphia Cares. Mr. Park, in his role with NAAAP, will be devoted to the development and execution of strategies and programs to strengthen its base through dedicated partnerships with local chapters, to foster a culture of confidence, and to ensure sustainable growth for the organization by attracting and retaining long-term partnerships.
Shan-Ming is currently based out of Atlanta, Georgia. He specializes in business intelligence and data warehousing as well as custom application and database development. Shan-Ming has worked for the telecom, retail and utilities industries previously in a variety of technology roles. He received his B.S.E in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.
Shan-Ming has been involved with NAAAP since 2004, when he discovered the Atlanta chapter looking for information dragon boat racing. He quickly became involved the following year as he joined the NAAAP Atlanta board as a technology chair, leading a redesign of the chapter's website. Shan-Ming currently serves as the National Vice President of Technology, where is responsible for strategic planning, architecture, implementation and operations for NAAAP's technology across the organization.
Shan-Ming is also involved in the annual Chopstix for Charity fundraising event that provides grants to Asian American community service organizations. In his spare, Shan-Ming enjoys hiking and dragon boat racing.
Tommy Yip is a Lead Network Design Engineer for British Telecom Global Services, a company that provides voice and data communication services for corporate customers with a heavy global presence. To supplement his fifteen-year career with the Telecommunications/IT industry, Tommy has obtained the most prestigious level of industry certification, the Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE)while leading a team of several network engineers and interfacing with global sales and account teams. Tommy graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida. Tommy is also a member of the University of Florida Alumni Association and an alumnus of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.
An active member of the Atlanta chapter of NAAAPsince 2005, Tommy has served as the 2006 Technology Lead, the 2007 Vice President, and the 2008 President for the Atlanta chapter. During his term as the Atlanta chapter President, Tommy led NAAAP-Atlanta to win three national awards of excellence including Chapter of the Year. While serving as the 2008 NAAAP-Atlanta President, Tommy was named one of the Top 25 Most Influential Asian-Americans in Georgia by the Georgia Asian Times. You may also see Tommy on the March 2008 Georgia Asian Times Executive Profile. In 2009, Tommy was inspired to bring his knowledge and experience to serve NAAAP on the national level by serving as the Director of the National Office of Chapter Development & Consultancy.
As current Chief Operating Officer (COO), Tommy's goals are to provide a stronger sense of unity and cohesiveness for all NAAAP localities in order become a stronger and unified national organization for professionals of Asian decent. Tommy believes a strong sense of unity and cohesiveness will help NAAAP greatly strengthen its presence and influence and provide more value to its members, sponsors, and partners on a global environment.
In his spare time, Tommy is learning rock climbing, learning to play golf, watches football, enjoys movies, and experiments with ethnic foods while fitting in weight training and cardiovascular exercises.
Sally Wang is the National VP, Chief Program Officer for NAAAP. Before taking on this role, she was briefly the National Public Relations Co-chair, responsible for promoting the 2009 NAAAP Convention in Denver, CO. She has been active as a Board Member and Student Outreach Co-Chair of NAAAP Boston since 2007 and a member of NAAAP since 2005.
Sally Wang is pursuing a joint J.D. and Master of Public Health (MPH) at Harvard University. She was the Symposium Editor of the Journal of Law and Technology, responsible for organizing the 2009 JOLT Symposium that engaged over a dozen of world-class experts in a fruitful dialogue on international access of essential medicines. She is currently the Recent Developments Editor at the Journal of Law Medicine and Ethics. She has a B.A. in Biology from Harvard University. While at Harvard College, she was member of the media committee and the Keynote Speaker Liaison for Harvard China Review’s annual international business conference.
For four years, Sally worked as a Business Management Consultant in the Pharmaceutical Industry. She helped many of the largest pharmaceutical companies as well as smaller biotech and venture capital firms improve their current business and seek out new opportunities.
Sally was born in Nanjing, China and grew up in America’s “Melting Pot” New York City. She attended the prestigious specialized high school, Stuyvesant, of which 60% are Asian Americans. In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Sally studies vocal music and writes classical Chinese poetry and martial arts novels.
Hector Javier hails from Manila, Philippines, and now lives as a US citizen in Durham, North Carolina. He is the NAAAP National VP of Chapter Operations, and is a former President of the NAAAP North Carolina Chapter.
Hector is an Information Technology Project Manager, and works as a Links Technology consultant at Cisco Systems, in Customer Advocacy Service Relations Management, Technical Services Web Business Intelligence Operations, and Communications & Collaboration Tools Management. Prior to that, he led multinational systems integration project teams in the American and Asia Pacific theaters for Accenture. He earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI), and a Java Programmer certification from Sun Microsystems. He has also trained in Six Sigma, Oracle, and the Capability Maturity Model, and earned various specialist certifications from IBM and Microsoft.
He earned dual B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Computer Engineering from the elite Jesuit university at Ateneo de Manila, where he had a merit scholarship and served in student government. He also studied for a year at the country's premiere College of Law at the University of the Philippines, and took post-baccalaureate courses in international law and international political economy and a Six Sigma green belt program at NC State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, and basic language classes at the North Carolina Japan Center.
Hector also sits on the National Leadership Council of the Young Professionals for International Cooperation (YPIC) program of the United Nations Association (UNA-USA), where he manages technology strategy and served as a former National Secretary and as a USA delegation member to the World Federation of UN Associations Conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina. On the local level, he is a co-founder of the YPIC program in Raleigh and chartered two Toastmasters Clubs, serves on the English Editorial Board of the China Star newspaper, and is a member of the Triangle International Affairs Council, Durham Young Professionals, Emerging Tar Heel Leaders, and the Philippine-American Association of North Carolina. He was selected by Leadership Triangle to join its 2008 Regional Leadership Program for emerging local civic leaders, and graduated as a Goodmon Fellow.

 Judi Rhee Alloway is an artist, writer, social entrepreneur, and Visionary Chairwoman of Huesoul Foundation.
In her Philadelphia community, she cofounded National Association of Asian American Professionals-Philadelphia and as a former Professional Development Chair, she created “Leaders in the Community” series. She now serves as National Chairwoman for Women in NAAAP! (WIN), a multicultural intergenerational leadership training program in over 20 areas in North America. Throughout her career that has spanned 3 continents; she has always advocated causes such as equal opportunity and diversity in thought leadership, sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship, community building, and international peace relations.
Graduating from The George Washington University with a B.A. in International Affairs and a concentration in Politics/Economics specializing in Russian Languages and Literatures, Judi can gratefully tap into her wealth of experiences as a social entrepreneur, creative artist, and community leader.
Shane Carlin was born in Seoul, South Korea and is a Korean American Adoptee where he grew-up in Union, Kentucky and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky in Agricultural Communications and his Master of Science in College Student Personnel at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Carlin is currently the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Advancement at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was the former Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for NASPA (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators). He also worked for Miami University for two years as a first-year academic advisor and then headed north to Evanston, Illinois, where he worked for five years in residence life at Northwestern University. Then he moved to Columbus, Ohio to take on the Director of Residence Life and Housing position.
When Carlin isn't working at his full-time job he sits on a few other boards such as the Midwest Asian American Student Union (MAASU) Board of Advisors, the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) National Administration team, and the University of Kentucky National Alumni Association Board, as well as being the first Asian American to be on the Kentucky 4-H Foundation Board. He was also a former NASPA IV East Board and Conference Committee member for four years, and Founder/President of the NAAAP-Columbus Venture (National Association of Asian American Professionals) and Chair for Chapter Development for NAAAP National and board member of the NAAAP-Chicago chapter.
Carlin is proudly married to Annie Sit-Carlin and they reside in Champaign, Illinois.
Tammy Dang is currently Director of the NAAAP 100 program. She is also involved with the San Francisco Chapter as Vice President of National Alliance. Through her role with the NAAAP 100, Tammy is working to further enhance NAAAP's potential to grow and develop into a premier organization.
Tammy graduated from New York University with a B.A. degree in Economics and Journalism with a minor in Spanish. For a couple of years, she taught English in Japan to elementary and junior high school students and traveled around parts of Asia. She has also worked around the financial industry.
In her free time, she plays the clarinet and flute and is also learning how to play the piano. Besides working with NAAAP, she volunteers for various organizations, including a social justice legal clinic, assisting with Chinese interpretation.
Venora Hung is currently a lawyer at Oppenheimer, Wolff and Donnelly, a Minneapolis based law firm. She also spends her free time serving as a Regent on the Board of Regents at the University of Minnesota. Venora was elected by the state legislature in 2007 for a six year term ending in 2013. Her other prominent activity outside of work is volunteering for the Council of Asian Pacific Minnesotans (Venora was elected by the Governor for a four-year term in 2008) and she represents the Chinese American community.
Venora attended the University of Minnesota for her undergraduate education where she triple majored in Finance, Insurance and Risk Management and Management Information Systems. She also double minored in Entrepreneurial Studies and French. After college, Venora worked in England for six months in a finance/IT consulting role for Cargill. Immediately upon my return to the US, she worked for Cargill in their Corporate Accounting department followed by a stint in their Cargill Value Investment (now CarVal) business unit before going to law school.
When not engaged with the community, she personally enjoys travelling to places where she has friends, reading/skimming magazines, writing and dabbling in the art of cooking. Venora also like to read blogs on marketing/branding.
Sherman is the Director of Business Intelligence Practice at Broadstreet Data Solutions Inc., with responsibilities including management and execution of consulting services from resources under his practice. He oversees the partnership between his company and their technology provider, SAP BusinessObjects. From having serviced client organizations across Customer Product Goods, Finance, Manufacturing, Energy, Pharmaceutical and Media Research sectors, he aims to instill in members the same passion of achieving career-progression goals, personal interests and professional maturity.
As Director of Professional Development at the NAAAP Toronto chapter, his main focus is toward management and execution of initiatives that revolve around promoting cultural, personal, and professional development-related values amongst the membership base through activities and programs, including innovative networking events, speaker functions, and mentorship intake. He also recognizes relationship building and collaboration with both corporate and non-profit associations as well as other chapters to foster new ideas as priorities. He works closely with the NAAAP National Programs committee and has helped initiate the National Webinar Series. He hopes to continue providing outlets on expanding the NAAAP footprint with his recent assignment as Director of National Convention Programming and Leadership Education.
Sherman currently resides in Toronto where he earned his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Toronto. He has been a Chinese Canadian citizen after spending his childhood in Hong Kong for 14 years. He enjoys photography and low-budget films, and has recently started learning percussion to push his fondness of the rock music genre into new height. He is a Young Patron Circle (YPC) member at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM).
Yelin Li, the National Programs Manager of Retreat and Convention Programming, is a second-year graduate student at Brandeis University International Business School (IBS). She assisted the programming of 2010 NAAAP National Leadership Retreat, working closely with Chief Programming Officer Sally Wang. She also serves as the NAAAP Student Ambassador at Brandeis University. She works actively at Brandeis and created different innovative ways of campus outreach. She successfully organized students group to annual signature event of NAAAP Boston Chapter when it has only been four months since she became a member of NAAAP in June 2009.
At Brandeis University, Yelin majors in International Economics and Finance. She did her internship at Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment (MOITI) as a research associate and China’s project coordinator. Her research paper of China's stimulus package supported the International Strategy Report of Massachusetts Governor Patrick. Brandeis University published her story named, “IBS Student Aims to Build Bridges to China”.
Before Yelin came to Brandeis, she worked at Shanghai office of HSBC Group (China) private banking team. She got her B.A. in Economics from Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), where she initiated the first SISU Out Door Sports Association. She enjoys camping, rock-climbing and Chinese Kong Fu.
Born in Vietnam and raised in California, Aidan Nguyen is currently working as a Senior Analyst for the economic consulting firm of Greylock McKinnon Associates in Boston. Aidan provides analytical and statistical support for lawyers and testifying experts in litigation cases involving anti-trust, mergers, market timing, and intellectual property across various industries. Previously, he has worked for Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, and the American Bar Foundation. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in economics and political science.
Aidan is the former Board Director and Chair of the Social Networking Committee of NAAAP Boston. In his two years with the Boston chapter, he has helped it become one of the largest chapters in the country, winning three national awards of excellence in 2009. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering for the Sunflower Mission organization, which builds schools and provides scholarships in rural regions of Vietnam.
Tuan Ta is an Offer Manager currently working for Schneider Electric where he manages global gateway solutions within the Power Business Unit. He has lived in foreign countries where he enjoys the exposure to diversity in the world. He has earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in Electrical Engineering with a minor in business administration and technical marketing.
He has been very active with NAAAP since his return to the U.S. in 2007. He was the founder of the NAAAP Nashville venture back in 2008. He now is the Co-Chair of Venture Development where he wish to help build other ventures across the world. He believes anything is possible through passion, people, and persistent. He simply wants to make an impact in the world.
During his spare time, he enjoys tennis, running, dancing and traveling. He is also engage in continuous learning and growth opportunities at the private and public levels.
Bon-Jay has been actively involved with NAAAP since the fall of 2005. He was the National Secretary in 2006 and was the National Representative of its Washington, DC chapter in 2007. Currently, Bon-Jay is working to further enhance the NAAAP Career Center.
Bon-Jay is a private equity professional with Argosy Partners in Philadelphia. Prior to his current work, Bon-Jay worked for a boutique investment banking firm in Washington, DC and with Bank of America in corporate finance. Bon-Jay received a B.S. in commerce with distinction from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, where he was an Echols Scholar.
During his spare time, Bon-Jay enjoys playing sports, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Timmy hails from Bryant University, with a dual Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Sciences (CIS) and Applied Actuarial Mathematics (AAM). His expertise is in using web technologies to simplify everyday life, automate mundane tasks, and reduce long-term maintenance.
In the corporate arena, his skills have been used to manage sales + financial data, provide solutions for logical data storage + retrieval, and decrease total cost of ownership. He is currently partnered with Amway Global to expand their XS Blast products into the New England region, and also works as a Web Developer for Xzito Creative Solutions.
In his spare time, he lends his technical knowledge to non-profit organizations such as the National Association of Asian-American Professionals and the Asian-American Resource Workshop. He is also a frequent contributor to the DartBoston and Social Boston Sports communities.
