Now Accepting 2008 WWAAC Nominations!

The Who's Who in Asian American Communities is proud to announce two new changes to its 3rd Annual WWAAC program. The WWAAC Leaders and Legends Awards will be the grand finale of (NAAAP) the National Association of Asian American Professionals' 22nd Annual Convention in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 23rd. Secondly, the WWAAC Leaders and Legends Awards will be televised and aired in millions of homes across the nation.

The WWAAC committee is a group of Asian Americans dedicated to honoring successful Asians who serve as leaders and role models in their respective communities. The purpose of the WWAAC Committee is to recognize the accomplishments of these leaders, publicize their achievements, and promote the Asian American community into mainstream America. Unlike other Who's Who organizations - membership to the distinguished and elite WWAAC Leaders and Legends Awards cannot be purchased. As recipients of the exclusive WWAAC award, Honorees must pass rigid scrutiny, fulfill numerous obligations, and possess outstanding accomplishments. The WWAAC Committee's mission is to pay tribute to these exemplary individuals through an annual awards show. It is the WWAAC Committee's goal to once again include only those distinguished Asian Americans who meet the required standards.

Through a highly scrutinized nomination and selection process, WWAAC Honorees will be chosen for 2008 after meeting the following rigorous criteria:

  • Applicant must be a legal permanent resident or US citizen of Asian descent in America
  • Applicant must be at least 21 years of age by December 31, 2007
  • Applicant must have achieved success in his or her profession
  • Applicant must have made a significant contribution to the Asian American community in America
  • Applicant must be an officer or leader of the community or an organization

For over one-hundred-fifty years, Asian Americans have made enormous contributions to the prosperity and success of this great nation. While there are many different Who's Who organizations recognizing outstanding members of our society, very few, if any, focus on the prominent Asian Americans who have been role models for success, great contributors to our community and to the nation, and distinguished figures in their own professions.
* All WWAAC Honorees must be present at the August 23rd WWAAC Leaders & Legends Awards in Los Angeles.

The deadline for nominations for the 2008 WWAAC Honorees is April 1, 2008.
