Women In NAAAP

Women in NAAAP (aka WIN!) is a special program created and developed to build competent and confident women leaders within NAAAP and within the Asian Pacific community. WIN!’s overall objectives include:

  • Strengthening members in NAAAP through specific leadership programming addressing stereotypes, strengths/weaknesses and a holistic perspective of oneself from work/career to friends , co-workers, family and community.
  • Stressing the importance of work-life balance and one’s personal journey in life from the perspective of being a woman and an Asian American woman in society today.
  • Creating a plan to help women accomplish their goals and objectives.
  • Building competencies and skills that will carry women beyond their current conditions and into a more productive, efficient, and satisfying tomorrow.
  • Supporting the Asian Pacific women leaders of tomorrow.

Women in NAAAP! was launched at the 23rd annual NAAAP National Convention in Denver on August 15th 2009. Facilitator and WIN! National Chairwoman, Judi Rhee Alloway hosted male and female representatives from more than 10 chapters and ventures for the “Train-the-Trainer” session led by :

  • Panney Wei, C.Ht. Certified Hypnotherapist-Author-Motivational Speaker; CEO, Positive Changes Consulting; NAAAP National & NAAAP Orange County and San Diego Senior Advisor, Co-Director and Co-Author of Women in NAAAP Curriculum
  • Sonya Gong Jent, Vice President Operations State Farm, NAAAP National & NAAAP Chicago Senior Advisor, Co-Director and Co-Author of Women in NAAAP Curriculum

With our diverse voices from across North America, NAAAP members also discussed “Leadership with a Local Flavor” in our Best Practices Forum guided by our National Chairwoman.
Besides pioneering our program, WIN! also sponsored our first panel “The Dragon and The Phoenix: Asian Issues in Personal Branding.”

Over the course of the coming year, WIN! will be creating an international platform to launch our unique leadership training program for our NAAAP members and the Pan Asian Diaspora. We are looking to initiate and establish partnerships with premier national and international leadership organizations.
