SUMMARY:Filipino History Month: The Painted People
DESCRIPTION:The painted people was the first documented name for the Visayans (Filipino Natives) encountered by the Spanish explorer Magellan. Who were the Pintados and what were the functions of Tattoos in the pre- colonial Philippines? We will cover the importance and heritage of Tattoos in Filipino culture.. We will also discuss the importance of researching through our Communities and existing tribes to learn about what is left of Tattoo knowledge in our specific regions.
