[New York, July 1, 2025] — The National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) is proud to announce the appointment of Newlyn Wing as its new Executive Director. With over a decade of nonprofit leadership experience and a proven track record of strategic innovation, Newlyn brings a deep commitment to empowering leaders and building systems that drive meaningful, lasting impact.

Newlyn joins NAAAP at a pivotal time of growth and opportunity. He previously served as Executive Director of Junior Chamber International (JCI) USA, where he led the transformation of programs to better meet the needs of young leaders and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Prior to that, he held roles at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and served NAAAP as Chief Strategy Officer, Self Care Programming Lead, and Orlando Chapter President.

“It’s an incredible honor to return to NAAAP in this new capacity,” said Wing. “NAAAP has a powerful legacy of empowering professionals to lead in their workplaces and communities, and it’s played a deeply meaningful role in both my personal and professional journey. As we look ahead, I’m committed to leading us in a bold new direction — one that reflects the urgency of this moment and the evolving needs of our community. These are not ordinary times, so this will not be business as usual. Together with our Chapters and Board of Directors, we’ll build on our strong foundation and reimagine how NAAAP shows up in the world.”

In addition to his experience in leadership development and organizational design, Newlyn is passionate about community outreach, nonprofit impact, and program development. He holds a Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential through the American Society of Association Executives and advanced degrees in Business and Hospitality Management. He is also a certified coach in both Behavioral Elements and the PRINT® motivational assessment system.

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Newlyn stays grounded through reading, music, tennis, and time with his wife Joelle and their two dogs. With family roots tracing back to post-war Vietnamese refugee communities in Michigan and Florida, he brings a personal connection to the diverse stories and aspirations that shape NAAAP’s mission.

Please join us in welcoming Newlyn Wing to the NAAAP community. We are excited for this next chapter and look forward to his leadership in advancing our shared vision of developing Asian American leaders for a brighter future.
