2018 Minnesota Chapter Accomplishments

Minnesota Chapter has been busy in 2018.

  • Built and began execution of 5 year strategy plan.
  • Executed first community event with a relaunch gathering, sharing the new purpose of MN chapter.
  • Partnered with US Bank and deliver first development session (Fish Bowl Conversation, Leading with Your Voice).
  • Partnered with Timberwolves for LNY night game (along with other API organizations).
  • [pictured above] Community partnership hosted event on “Chinese Exclusion Act” documentary (with guest panel speakers).
  • Partnered with APIASF on second annual Twin Cities fundraiser (with $15k raised for APIASF scholarships).
  • Partnered with three API owned tech start-ups, with panel discussion on “Entrepreneurship is About Asking for Help”.
  • Hosted fifth annual Twin Cities Asian ERN Summit, with Thomson Reuters (over 150 attendees, from +25 companies).
  • Co-hosted with Ascend, “Communicate for the New Year” and networking event.
  • Attained 501(c)3 status (including by-laws, incorporation, financial controls, operating guidelines, etc.).
  • Transitioned from working board to governing board (7 directors, 13 executive team).
  • Secured two Fortune 40 sponsorships  and two community in-kind sponsorships.
  • Rebuilt digital presence (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, website, G-Suite, and other digital services).
  • Built over 25 key corporate, non-profit and public sector relationships, that ensure future growth.
  • Influenced other Midwest chapters with key learnings (especially non-profit status/operations); to help them thrive into their chapters.
