The 3rd annual Northeast Leadership Conference (NLC), Activate: Rise Above the Rest, is a one-day conference that will help attendees identify their hidden abilities, and teach them how to harness these skills to succeed. The NLC will inspire attendees to engage with the larger U.S. community in order to make a difference with newly activated abilities.

Global megatrends that dominate our lives will also lead to major sea changes in the marketplace. Equally important, this has resulted in rapid shifts in the workplace. This session looks at the dramatic (and nuanced) changes that almost every professional faces—and how to navigate them successfully. These include customizable and flexible workplaces, multigenerational perspectives, robotization and the need to learn continuously (both faster and deeper). This session addresses these workplace futures and helps you to advance as you engage in FutureWork.

This training seminar helps you learn the importance of personal branding, the benefits and techniques for developing an effective personal brand. This is designed for those who wish to develop and improve their personal branding and networking skills. Positive personal branding has always attracted and created potential partnerships, career opportunities and networks. Whether you’re a “new kid on the block” or a seasoned professional, you will learn something new to help you to be more successful in professional settings and personal life by perfecting an effective personal brand. Many of our most talented foreign-born professionals struggle to overcome cultural and communication barriers which hinder their goal achievement. Golden Opportunities: When to Say Yes and How to Say NoBy Stanley Fujii 

Stanley retired with over 31 years of federal experience and currently operates a consulting business focusing on procurement training, teaming resolutions, and understanding the federal market place.  His focus is understanding the different procurement programs, understanding the lingo, pre-proposal preparation, and general business development.  Stanley formerly worked for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Office of Veterans Business Development as the Veterans Procurement.  In this position he served as an advocate for Veteran & Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, working the three “C” of Capital, Contracts and Counseling.  He assisted Veterans maneuver into business, build their business and understand the federal contracting arena. Previously with SBA he served as a Warranted Contracting Officer, a Senior Program Analyst with the SBA’s HUB Zone Program Office, and as the Acting, Deputy Associate Administrator for SBA’s Office of Business Development overseeing the 8(a) Business Development and Small Disadvantaged Business Programs nationally.

Decisive Leadership Now and Strategic Leadership for the Future By the Pan-Pacific American Leaders and Mentors 

The Pan-Pacific American Leaders and Mentors organization is an all-volunteer organization comprised of military and civilian professionals committed to mentoring and promoting professional development, retention and the advancement of Asian American and Pacific Islander leaders—Active, Reserve, National Guard, and DoD civilians. Asian American and Pacific Islanders have proudly served in the United States Military for over 100 years with a rich history of bravery and loyalty, led by talented and competent leaders.

Civic Engagement and Community Leadership  By the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies 

This panel will focus on leadership at the grassroots level and how to mobilize the community to make effective progress. More specifically, panelists will talk about their personal experiences in dealing with setbacks and engaging with supportive organizations. The goal is to inspire attendees to get involved with the community and inform them that their participation can make a difference.
